IN THE COMMUNITY…Edward’s passion is Cyber Security Awareness

While President of ISACA’s Vancouver Chapter in 2013/14, Edward co-founded the BCAWARE Campaign – a unique public security awareness campaign open to all IT security and privacy leaders, their staff, and any other professional group interested in IT security and privacy. Edward remains as a technical advisor for this annual event, and is also a regular contributor to the Hot Topics of the BCAWARE Campaign web-site. Click here.

In addition to leading his own IT security & privacy practice focussed on medium sized companies throughout Greater Vancouver, Edward conducts cyber security awareness seminars for professional organizations such as the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC and its many chapters.

in late 2015, Carmel Info-Risk was commissioned by ISACA Vancouver to compose a white paper on the Province of British Columbia’s ability to produce students with relevant information security training for a lifelong career in Cyber Security. The results will surprise you. We are simply not doing enough at the post-secondary level. But what now? Action is urgently needed to fill the anticipated 1,000,000 cyber security jobs currently estimated to be vacant around the world!
